Aurora police investigating after two men were shot on city’s east side Thursday night

Aurora police are investigating after two men were shot Thursday on the city’s east side.

According to a news release from the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to the 1900 block of Westridge Place at about 10:20 p.m. on July 16 to find two men, ages 53 and 19, suffering from gunshot wounds.

The men were transported to the hospital, and both were last reported to be in serious but stable condition, authorities said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that multiple rounds were fired at the residence before those involved fled the area. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from circumstances specific to those involved and said there is no indication of a continuing threat to the community.

Detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Bureau are reviewing evidence and following leads. No arrests have been made.
