Three men accused of breaking into stores along Northwest Highway, stealing lottery tickets

Three men are facing felony burglary charges and are suspected in series of overnight break-ins at liquor and convenience stores along Northwest Highway, officials said.

Police arrested and charged Ramon Figueroa, 56, Paulo A. D. Guinto, 32, and Herminio J. Manzano, 43, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.

The string of burglaries began on June 27 after offenders broke into multiple Arlington Heights businesses, primarily targeting state lottery tickets.

After the break-ins, the offenders would visit other stores to redeem the winning stolen tickets for cash, the release stated.

Local businesses in neighboring communities were soon burglarized in a similar manner, prompting the Arlington Heights Police Department to launch a collaborative investigation.

Tuesday night, the three suspects attempted to burglarize one of the businesses originally targeted in Arlington Heights; detectives responded and arrested the three men, according to the release.
