Lake County Central Permit Facility closed due to HVAC outage

Due to an unexpected HVAC outage and high temperatures, the Lake County Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, is closed for the rest of the day Tuesday.

As a result, in-person services at the Lake County planning, building and development department; environmental health; and, Stormwater Management Commission are unavailable for the remainder of the day.

Residents and customers can still apply for permits and pay invoices online. However, the Environmental Laboratory, which conducts water sample testing, is closed today, and the Planning, Building and Development Department’s main phone line is also unavailable.

The facility is to reopen on Wednesday, July 15, and normal in-person services are anticipated to resume at that time.
