Harness the power of the sun at Creek Bend Nature Center’s EcoLab

On Saturday, Aug. 1, join the Forest Preserve District of Kane County for dazzling solar experiments at “EcoLab: Fun in the Sun.”

Participants will explore how to harness the energy of the sun by doing solar experiments from 1 to 2 p.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles.

After a brief overview of the sun’s properties and characteristics, participants will conduct two scientific experiments that culminate in results that participants can take home and display.

EcoLab is a quarterly, environmental education program that offers children and young adults the opportunity to analyze and learn about the natural world through a science-based approach.

This program is designed for ages 10 or older. The fee is $5 per person. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
