District 211 administrative team includes new hires, new positions for 2026-27 school year

A new deputy superintendent position leads the changes to the administrative team reporting directly to Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 Superintendent Judith Campbell as she begins her own second year guiding the state’s largest high school district.

The team of eight includes only two people who held the same titles last year, as well as four people new to the district.

“As I begin my second year as superintendent, I am proud to bring together a leadership team that combines deep District 211 experience with outstanding new talent,” Campbell said in a statement. “Together, we will continue celebrating the incredible work happening in our schools while engaging our community in shaping the district’s next strategic plan. I am confident this team has the vision, expertise and collaborative spirit to continue moving District 211 forward.”

The new deputy superintendent is LaShonda Bilbo-Ervin, who previously served as executive director of secondary schools for Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools, from where Campbell herself was hired a year ago. Her salary is $220,805.

Though the position of deputy superintendent is new to District 211, it was the title Campbell held at the Kansas school district.

Andrew Peterman is the new director of technology & digital learning, hailing from Algonquin-based Community Unit District 300 where he served as technology integration specialist. His salary is $182,000.

Maria Robertson is District 211’s new chief communications and community engagement officer. She previously was the director of communications and public relations for Decatur Public Schools District 61. Her salary is $195,700.

Ken Kleber has been named assistant superintendent for human resources. He comes from the equivalent position in Champaign Unit 4 Schools. His salary is $224,000.

Promoted to assistant superintendent for student services is Danielle Hauser, who became director of student services in 2021. She came to the district’s administration center in 2009 as director of instructional improvement. Her new salary is $205,500.

Matt Hildebrand has been promoted to director of safety and security after 12 years as District 211’s director of administrative services. His new salary is $201,800.

Lauren Hummel continues as chief operating officer, the position she’s held since 2014.

Josh Schumacher, the former principal of Hoffman Estates High School, is beginning his seventh year as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

Neither the president nor vice president of the school board could be reached for comment Thursday.
