Democratic candidates sought to fill District 9 Lake County Board seat

The Lake County Democratic Party and Waukegan Township Democratic Party are inviting those interested serving the remaining two years of the District 9 county board seat to submit a resume, statement of interest and any supporting materials to D9managingcommittee@lakedems.org.

The seat opened with the recent death of longtime county board member Mary Ross Cunningham.

County board members also serve as forest preserve commissioners. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old, live in District 9, not be disqualified because of a prior felony conviction and have lived in Lake County at least a year.

Deadline is 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 24. Per state law, the party’s candidate in the Nov. 3 election will be selected by a committee of precinct committeeperson’s who represent precincts in District 9.
