Enjoy Lake County Greek Fest July 10-12

The annual Lake County Greek Fest takes place on Friday through Sunday, July 10-12, on the grounds of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville. Greek Fest will be open each day from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Drive-through service will be available each day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m.

The event will be held on the church grounds at 1400 North O’Plaine Road, south of Belvidere Road (Route 120) and north of Buckley Road (Route 137). The golden dome of the 18-year-old church can be seen from the I-94 Tollway. Visitors will be able to tour the fifth century design Byzantine church with the pastor, Father Thomas Alatzakis.

Come for the Greek food, including lamb, souvlakia (shish-kebab), Athenian chicken, gyros, spanakopita (spinach pie), delicious Greek pastries and more. There will also be Greek music and dancing.

A special musical act planned for Friday night will be the classic rock and soul cover band Class of 68, appearing from 6-9 p.m.

There is no admission to the event and free parking will be available on-site.
