Deck fire at apartment building in St. Charles

A third-floor deck caught on fire around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at an apartment building on the 1800 block of Prairie Street in St. Charles.

The fire was reported by a passerby, according to the St. Charles Fire Department. Nobody was injured, authorities said. The cause is under investigation.
