Aurora police investigating after two men were shot on July 4

Aurora police are investigating after two men were shot while attending a Fourth of July gathering on Aurora’s east side Saturday night.

A news release from the Aurora Police Department said officers responded to the 200 block of N. Loucks Street just before midnight Saturday to find two Aurora men, aged 29 and 35, suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say evidence technicians found multiple shell casings in the area, and detectives canvassed the neighborhood and continue to follow up on leads.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community. No arrests have been made, and the motive remains under investigation.
