Rebranded former Kamp K9 in Long Grove debuts as Digs Dog Care
Digs Dog Care, a growing national network of high-quality pet resorts, opened this past weekend in the former Kamp K9 location in Long Grove.
The official rebranding of the longtime facility at 2727 Route 53, was celebrated with an open house featuring tours, activities for dogs and handlers, giveaways and an on-site adoption with For Good Rescue.
“The event saw a great turnout from the community and had a meaningful impact, with three dogs adopted and one additional dog placed into foster care,” said Lizzy Ament, assistant marketing manager.
Kamp K9 was acquired last year as one of five rebranded Digs locations to be introduced this spring and summer. The brand operates 37 resorts in 15 states.
The entire facility, featuring a 5,500-square-foot indoor play space, was refreshed with new branding and upgrades. According to a company FAQ, the goal is to elevate the standard of pet care with a convenient, safe and customer-centric experience.
“At Digs, we redefine what pup parent can expect from a dog care facility — more play, more peace of mind and a whole lot more personality,” the FAQ reads.
Core services include DayPlay with monthly themed events and activities such as agility courses or photo days; standard to luxury overnight stays; grooming packages from a la carte to full-service options; and, training.
Last August, Digs, then a new pet services brand, announced a national expansion by acquiring 17 pet resorts in a mix of rebranded Digs locations and partner facilities operating under their original names, according to a news release at the time.
The brand was founded by entrepreneurs who “identified an opportunity to revolutionize the pet care space,” according to the release. The first rebranded Digs facility opened last summer in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“As a group of passionate pet owners ourselves, we identified a true need within the industry — an upscale experience paired with a high-level of care and service,” Digs CEO Jeff Nathan said at the time.
The goal was for continued growth, he added, through acquisitions of “best-in-class” locations in targeted markets.
