Five Illinois veterans honored

In June, at the American Legion Post in Lake Zurich, Illinois Medal of Honor recipient Al Lynch, State Sen. Darby Hills and State Rep. Dan Swanson, chair of the Illinois Veterans’ Affairs Committee, helped celebrate America 250 by honoring five veterans.

Plaques honoring the five veterans were made by Mundelein high school student Michael Townsend and his instructor Manny Aldana.

Rep. Swanson passed state resolutions honoring the five veterans that were placed on the plaques.
