Motorcyclist killed in Des Plaines crash identified

A motorcyclist who died following a crash in Des Plaines last week has been identified as a Niles resident.

Travis Reedy Jr., 26, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred a little after 10 p.m. Thursday in front of a fast-food restaurant on the 700 block of West Golf Road.

Reedy was headed east on a Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a Toyota Camry that was exiting the restaurant’s parking lot, a Des Plaines police spokesperson said. The motorcycle struck the back end of the Camry, which was being driven by a 42-year-old Chicago man.

Reedy died the next night at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, the Cook County medical examiner’s office reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
