Liberal distortion of cross-burning story

In the June 17 edition of the Daily Herald, there was an article titled “ ‘Person of interest’ in custody in Grant Park cross-burning” which was written by a Chicago Sun-Times reporter. As expected, the media immediately identified this as a hate crime against Blacks and compared it to the despicable actions of the Ku Klux Klan. The article is about 500 words long and the first 350 words are implying this was the reason for this particular act by the perpetrator. But finally after 350 words, the truth comes out: “The man interviewed by a TV station said he was protesting the ‘ruling class’ and ‘Christian nationalists’ who support Trump. He said he put a red hat on the cross to signify a MAGA hat worn by the President’s allies.”

Why not just print the truth to begin with? Of course, it does not end there. A so-called expert from the University of Chicago stated that “…the man seemed sincere that he was not trying to send a hateful message to Black people.” Well, it sure seems like he was sending a hateful message to Trump supporters. But no outrage there from the liberal media.
