Midsummer Artisan Market brings local arts and crafts to Lake Zurich brewery

Summer is officially in full swing, and Streetz Artz Alliance is bringing a little extra magic to Lake Zurich with the Midsummer Artisan Market at Phase Three Brewing on Saturday, June 27, from noon to 5 p.m.

The event is a fresh take on one of the brewery’s previous summer markets, blending handmade artistry, small business shopping, beer, delicious food, and a touch of midsummer whimsy into one family-friendly afternoon.

For the first time, the market will expand beyond the brewery walls with a select group of artists setting up outdoors along the brewery’s side drive aisle, allowing visitors to enjoy the summer weather while they sip and shop.

Phase Three Brewing has become one of Streetz Artz Alliance’s longest-running brewery partners, hosting popular events such as the Be Mine Bazaar, Winterhaus Holiday Market, and Fright Market at Camp Lake Zurich.

The Midsummer Artisan Market continues that partnership while celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship of local artists from across the Chicago area.

More than three dozen artists, makers, and specialty vendors are currently scheduled to participate, offering a wide variety of handmade goods and unique experiences. Visitors will discover original artwork, paintings, illustrations, handmade jewelry, crystal creations, embroidery, crochet, woodworking, candles, laser-crafted gifts, floral décor, books, collectibles, tarot readings, gourmet treats, specialty coffee, and much more.

One of the most exciting aspects of Streetz Artz Alliance events is the carefully curated mix of returning favorites and new faces. Several artists making appearances at this year’s Midsummer Artisan Market have become familiar names to Phase Three patrons over the years, while others will be debuting at the venue for the first time.

Among the featured artists is AR1588, the artistic project of Alycia Rosemin. Her appearance marks a special full-circle moment for organizer John E. Streetz, as Rosemin participated in the very first artisan market he ever organized nearly a decade ago. Her distinctive abstract and mixed-media artwork has since been exhibited throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Belonio Doodles returns with his signature blend of humor, pop culture, and Chicago-inspired illustrations. The local artist and educator has been featured in numerous media outlets and has built a following through his playful artwork, comic-inspired creations, and custom commissions.

Music lovers will want to stop by Roczilla Records, making its debut at Phase Three Brewing. Known throughout the northern Illinois vinyl community, Roczilla specializes in carefully curated new and used records spanning classic rock, modern releases, and collector favorites.

Those seeking a little midsummer magic can visit Reflections with Kate, Primtentions, Angelic Celestial Whispers, and author-artist Melanie Klegerman Fersko. Their booths will feature crystal art, intention-based creations, fantasy-inspired artwork, handmade jewelry, tarot readings, and books that perfectly complement the mystical atmosphere often associated with midsummer celebrations.

The market will also feature local favorites including DK Custom Woodwork Co., Gigawatt Coffee Roasters, KP’s Candy Factory, Snowingstars, The Daydreamers Shop, Kulay Illustrations, and many others.

Visitors will find plenty to enjoy beyond shopping. Phase Three Brewing continues to offer one of the most diverse draft menus in the region, with everything from hop-forward hazy IPAs and crisp lagers to fruited sours, dark beers, and seasonal specialties.

The brewery’s expanded kitchen menu includes favorites such as Pulled Chicken Nachos, Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Bites, Brisket Grilled Cheese, French Onion Dipper sandwiches, Beer Mac & Cheese, and a variety of other handcrafted menu items.

For those looking for something a little different, the brewery’s popular Dirty Soda Pop Shop creations combine seltzers with specialty syrups, sodas, ice cream, whipped cream, and other ingredients to create fun summer-inspired beverages.

While the lineup is already shaping up to be one of the most diverse artisan markets of the summer, Streetz Artz Alliance is still accepting a limited number of artist applications. Organizers are particularly interested in hearing from makers working in pottery, stained glass, metalwork, leather goods, bath and body products, plants, photography, handcrafted apparel, specialty baked goods, and other unique mediums not currently represented in the event.

One of the hallmarks of Streetz Artz Alliance events is a commitment to minimizing vendor overlap while maintaining a high standard of quality. The goal is to create an engaging shopping experience where visitors can discover something new at every booth while supporting independent artists, makers, and small businesses.

"We love working with Phase Three Brewing," said organizer John E. Streetz. "The beer is crushable, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is a perfect fit for artisan markets. Adding some midsummer magic and expanding outdoors should make this one of our most enjoyable events of the season."

The Midsummer Artisan Market takes place Saturday, June 27, from noon to 5 p.m. at Phase Three Brewing, 932 Donata Court in Lake Zurich. Admission is free. The event is family friendly, and no tickets are required. Plenty of nearby parking is available.
