Police: No signs of foul play in death of three Buffalo Grove family members
There is no indication of foul play in the death of three family members at a Buffalo Grove home Tuesday, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office on Wednesday identified the three as Helen Cavins, 88, Harold Cavins, 81, and Mark Cavins, 60.
A determination of the cause and manner of the deaths remained undetermined following autopsies Wednesday, the medical examiner reported.
The Cavins lived together in a home in the southwest side of Buffalo Grove, which was listed by the medical examiner’s office as the incident address.
Mark Cavins was pronounced dead at 9:02 a.m. and Harold Cavins at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday at the residence. Helen Cavins was pronounced dead at Endeavor Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department is investigating the deaths along with the medical examiner’s office.
Police said the two older family members were under hospice care.
Other relatives arrived from Pennsylvania Wednesday and were at the house.
Dawn Grimes, the Cavins’ daughter, said her brother Mark was their parents’ caregiver. She said she did not have any details about their deaths.
