Olympic speed skater to kick off Glen Ellyn’s Fourth of July Freedom Four
Kick off your Fourth of July with a healthy tradition the whole family can enjoy! The Glen Ellyn Freedom Four is a 4-mile run/walk that takes you on a scenic route around Lake Ellyn Park and the surrounding neighborhood. Whether you're a seasoned runner chasing a personal record or a casual walker enjoying the fresh air, this event welcomes participants ages 5 or older.
The Freedom Four goes beyond the finish line. It’s about celebrating community spirit and supporting a great cause. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation's Scholarship Fund, ensuring underprivileged families have access to recreation and athletic programs offered through the Glen Ellyn Park District.
The run/walk will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn.
