Bartlett seniors help celebrate America’s 250th

Dozens of resident at Bartlett senior community donned patriotic colors and lined up outside to form the number “250” on Monday in an early celebration of the United States’ semiquincentennial.

“This is the fun group,” Anna Rosalez, a director at Hearthwood Senior Living, said Monday as more than 60 of the community’s residents gathered for a photo - taken from three stories above - to preserve the occasion. “They are the ones who volunteer for everything.”

The average age of the resident taking part Monday is 85. Combined with a handful of staff members who helped complete the numbers, the combined age of the group topped 5,500.
