Cook County picks ex-Fermilab CFO to oversee its finances

Angela Manning-Hardimon has been appointed chief financial officer of Cook County’s Bureau of Finance.

Manning-Hardimon joins Cook County following a career spanning more than three decades in banking, municipal finance, transportation, higher education and scientific research. Most recently, she served as senior director and chief financial officer at Fermilab, where she oversaw an $850 million operating budget and directed the laboratory’s accounting, budgeting, finance, procurement and business systems functions.

Prior to Fermilab, she served as vice president of finance, chief financial officer and treasurer at Illinois Institute of Technology, where she oversaw a $310 million operating budget and $300 million endowment.

Manning-Hardimon succeeds Tanya Anthony, who retired earlier this year.
