Chamber Music on the Fox celebrates LGBTQ+ composers in season finale

Chamber Music on the Fox presents their final concerts of the season on June 14-15.

The concert program, titled “Resonant Voices,” will be an exploration and celebration of the immense contributions of LGBTQ+ composers and musicians to the classical music landscape.

The program is guest-curated by Eric Pidluski, a regular performer on the Chamber Music on the Fox series.

In a program featuring works by Benjamin Britten, Jennifer Higdon, and more, musicians and audiences will honor these individuals’ contributions to music and the vibrant diversity they bring to the art form.

This concert is the second in the 2025-26 season to be guest-curated by a musician — the first being Heartstrings in February 2026, curated by Eleanor Bartsch.

“This guest curation initiative is an exciting new element we are trying this season,” said managing director Elizabeth Rupp. “It is a unique and, we believe, important opportunity to center musicians’ voices in their industry, and utilize our series to introduce a variety of programmatic choices to our audiences.”

The concert will feature violinists Eric Pidluski and Sam Battista, violist Amanda Grimm, cellist Sara Sitzer, with baritone Keanon Kyles and pianist William McDaniel.

The concerts will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora, and 7 p.m. Monday, June 15, at First Congregational Church of Dundee, 900 S. Eighth St. in West Dundee.

Tickets are $25 or $15 for students, available via chambermusiconthefox.org.

This season, Chamber Music on the Fox has been partnering with local nonprofit organizations to shine a spotlight on the good work these groups are doing for local communities, as well as how music integrates into people’s lives in multiple ways.

This month, they are featuring Elgin Pride as its Concerts & Community partner. Chamber Music on the Fox is glad to highlight them as an organization working for the advancement of marginalized people, and to bring people together in acceptance and celebration.
