Man fatally shot by police ID’d as Carpentersville resident

The man fatally shot by Carpentersville police early Saturday has been identified as a resident of that town.

Jenry Guadalupe Custodio Casimiro, 44, died of multiple gunshot wounds after police say he shot two other people inside a local business, the Kane County coroner’s office announced Monday, following an autopsy.

The results of toxicology tests are pending.

The violence occurred shortly after midnight Saturday at La Ilusion Restaurant & Bar, which is in a small shopping center on the 1300 block of Kings Road. It stemmed from a domestic situation, authorities have said.

The two people shot by the suspect were hospitalized. Information about their conditions wasn’t available Monday.

A preliminary investigation revealed the shooter and the victims knew each other, police said.

Illinois State Police are investigating because officers were involved. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Kane County state’s attorney’s office for review.
