Three separate fires in Aurora displace 16 residents over the weekend
The Aurora Fire Department responded over the weekend to three separate structure fires that displaced a total of 16 people.
The first fire occurred just before 2 p.m. Saturday at a 2½-story single-family home in the 1400 block of Greenlake Drive. No injuries were reported, but the home was deemed uninhabitable, displacing four adults.
The second fire happened at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South 4th Street. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the attic area of a 2½-story single-family home. Eleven adults were displaced, and two cats were rescued. No injuries were reported.
The third fire occurred at about 9:40 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Zengele Avenue. Crews arrived to find significant fire conditions on the front side of a two-story single-family home. One adult resident was transported for smoke inhalation, and one firefighter was transported for evaluation of a minor injury.
The home was deemed uninhabitable, displacing one adult.
All three fires remain under investigation by AFD fire investigators.
