Arlington Heights police investigating reported attack near Lake Arlington

Arlington Heights police are investigating a late Sunday night attack reported near Lake Arlington.

Police said they were alerted by a motorist at about 11:15 p.m. who was flagged down by a “distressed” 18-year-old woman near the intersection of Windsor Drive and Jonquil Circle.

The woman told investigators she was walking home when she was approached by an unknown man riding a bicycle. She said the man kept asking, “What you’re name,” then grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and began choking her.

The woman was able to escape and flag down the motorist.

Police said the woman suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening and reunited with her family.
