Softball: IC Catholic Prep falls to Seneca in Class 2A semifinals

IC Catholic Prep lost its Class 2A softball semifinal 8-6 to Seneca on Thursday in Peoria.

The Knights (29-5) were led by freshman shortstop Sophia Deoudes, who went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Junior third baseman Lexi Russ went 2-for-4 and drove in 2 runs. Center fielder Sofia Bucaro, a senior, went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Center fielder Grayson Provance led Seneca (38-2) by going 4-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Emma Mino and Hayden Pfeifer each drove in 2 runs.

ICCP plays in the third-place game at 12:30 p.m. Friday against either Williamsville or Carterville. Seneca plays for the championship at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
