Authorities identify woman found dead in Aurora outlet mall retention pond

Authorities have identified the woman whose body was found in a retention pond at Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora Monday.

The Kane County coroner’s office said they used dental and fingerprint records to positively identify 32-year-old Shafia Murad of Aurora.

Police were searching for Murad Monday evening, who had been reported missing May 28.

The cause and manner of Murad’s death remain under investigation.
