Officials: One hurt when forklift falls onto car in Barrington Hills

One person was injured after a forklift fell from a truck and onto a car in Barrington Hills on Tuesday, officials said.

The incident happened at the intersection of Dundee and Bateman roads around 4:15 p.m., according to a news release from the East Dundee and Countryside Fire Protection District. Responding officers found one passenger trapped in the car, which had significant damage.

The victim was cut out of the car and taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Their condition was not immediately available.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, the release stated.
