Hidden Gems Garden Walk returns June 27
Garden lovers and curious neighbors alike will have the opportunity to step beyond the hedges and garden gates of Libertyville’s private landscapes during the 14th annual Hidden Gems Garden Walk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.
Hosted by the Town & Country Garden Club of Libertyville, the self-guided tour will showcase five distinctive gardens, each reflecting a different approach to outdoor living and design. From expansive landscapes to smaller, thoughtfully planned spaces, the tour offers ideas and inspiration for gardeners of every experience level.
Among this year’s featured stops is a native plant garden inspired by Doug Tallamy and his Homegrown National Park initiative, demonstrating how residential landscapes can support pollinators and local wildlife while remaining visually striking. Visitors will also see gardens incorporating sculpture and artistic elements, a creative entry water feature, and a terraced hillside leading to a pergola with sweeping views said to be among the highest in Lake County.
Representatives from Wild Ones will be available at select locations to answer questions about native gardening and habitat-friendly practices. Several garden sites will also feature vendors offering nature-inspired artwork, jewelry and handcrafted pieces.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. Proceeds support the garden club’s scholarships, educational programs, civic plantings and activities, and gardens throughout Libertyville.
