Northwest Concert Band 2026 Summer Concert Series in June and July

The public is invited to join the Northwest Concert Band for their 2026 free Summer Concert series. The band will continue to celebrate America’s 250th birthday by focusing on American composers during four Monday night summer concerts:

• 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 15: Broadway

The band will play medleys from Broadway favorites, including “Phantom of the Opera,” “Cats” and “New York New York.” Enjoy an arrangement of some of George Gershwin’s most recognizable tunes including “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.”

• 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 29: Patriotic

Days before the country’s 250th birthday, enjoy patriotic music such as “American Salute” by Morton Gould and “Commando March” by Samuel Barker. And what celebration of America’s birthday would be complete without a rousing performance of Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”?

• 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 13: Adventures

The third summer concert features music from Hollywood’s adventure movies, including selections from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Mutiny on the Bounty,” “Far and Away” and more.

• 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 27: Space

America returned to space in 2026 with Artemis II, marking the first time humans traveled around the moon in more than half a century. The band will honor this achievement by playing “Highlights from Star Trek: the Motion Picture,” “Selections from E.T.,” “Moon Symphony” by the band’s own Randy Steinberg and more.

All summer concerts are free and take place at the Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows.

Bring chairs to the Monday night concerts. The summer concerts take place outside. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be canceled.
