Allen J. Lynch plaque installed at Gurnee Veterans Memorial

The village of Gurnee recently unveiled the permanent home of the Allen J. Lynch plaque at its new location at Veterans Memorial, outside the Gurnee Police Department. The plaque stands as a lasting tribute to his service and Medal of Honor story, ensuring it will be shared with generations to come.

The village extends its thanks to everyone who joined us for this special occasion, including the many elected officials, the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County, and Gurnee American Legion Post 771. Moving and inspiring words were given by speakers Mayor Tom Hood, Post Commander Jim Walsh and Medal of Honor recipient Allen Lynch.
