Unheeded problems
I live in Wheeling, and there are things going on here that shouldn't be.
There's a lot of noise happening around the village from overly noisy cars, day and night, that have loud aftermarket exhaust systems, and nobody seems to care. There's a law called “Disturbing The Peace,” and it appears our village officials are turning the other ear to it.
I can't understand why this is being ignored.
The second issue we're having here and in most other towns around here, is the scooters and e-bikes that are weaving through our streets, walking trails and sidewalks with disregard for stop signs, traffic signals and pedestrians. My concern is that I doubt any of these e-bikes, go karts and scooters operators don't have drivers licenses, insurance, registration or even know the rules of the road, and if they are involved in an accident how would that be handled. I've even seen kids as young as 6 years old operating these on public streets.
