One killed in early morning Tri-State crash near Gurnee

One person was killed and another injured in an early morning crash Saturday on the Tri-State tollway south of Route 120 in the Gurnee area.

Illinois State Police said there was a two-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer just before 5 a.m. Three westbound lanes were closed for several hours and re-opened about 10:45 a.m.

Two people were taken to a local hospital, according to police. One person was pronounced dead at the hospital. Further information was not immediately available.
