New trustee sworn in to Vernon Area Public Library District board

Vernon Hills resident Samira Qureshi was sworn in this week to fill a seat on the Vernon Area Public Library’s board of trustees.

She will serve until the April 2027 consolidated election.

Ben Isabel is resigning from board because he is moving out of the district and will no longer meet the residency requirement for the position.

Isabel was appointed to the library board in October 2024 and elected the following April to a six-year term. Library Director Anne Rasmussen thanked Isabel for his proactive service and contributions keeping the board informed on regional issues.
