Des Plaines man jailed after car chase in DuPage county

A Des Plaines man is being detained pretrial after being chased by police in Oak Brook in connection with an investigation into a burglary in Wheeling.

Anthony Miller, 36, of the 1100 block of Holiday Lane, is charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding, both felonies, and misdemeanor driving while license suspended, according to a news release from the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office.

Oak Brook police say a Chicago Police Department helicopter unit told them around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday that a black pickup truck, wanted in connection with a burglary investigation, was traveling from westbound I-88 onto southbound Route 83.

Officers saw the truck after it turned west onto 67th Street and approached Clarendon Hills Road in Darien. Police say it refused to stop, crossed into oncoming traffic, drove north on Clarendon Hills to 63rd Street, went east to Route 83, and north on Route 83 before stopping.

Police say Miller drove 70 mph in a 30 mph zone in a residential area on Clarendon Hills Road.
