Officials: Death of construction worker in Palatine under investigation

The death of a man Wednesday afternoon in Palatine is currently under investigation, officials said.

Palatine police and fire departments responded just before 4 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of W. Mahogany Court to a report of a construction worker who had fallen from a roof, according to a news release from the Palatine Police Department.

Upon arrival, they found a 40-year-old man who was unresponsive; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Palatine Police Department, the Palatine Fire Department, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

At this time, no additional information is being released pending notification of family and the ongoing investigation. Additional information may be released if appropriate.
