Report: Teen drowns in Lake Michigan near Waukegan harbor

A teenager who went missing while swimming with friends in Lake Michigan near Waukegan Harbor Monday has died, according to multiple media reports.

Emergency workers were called to the harbor at about 5:30 p.m. after friends of the teen reported him missing.

Rescue crews searched along the channel and eventually located the teenage boy submerged near a break wall.

The boy was transported to Vista East Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
