Letter: Clarity on who is defending democracy

As we approach the November midterm elections, it seems there is crystal clarity on two points. First, Democrats are working very hard to defend and preserve democracy. Without it, there is no America. Second, Republicans are doing what they do best: distract, befuddle clear thinking and then pray that Americans/voters have short memories of regarding the events of Jan. 6.
