A Safe Place celebrates 10 years of Wine, Women & Shoes

A Safe Place, a Lake County nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, has announced the 10th anniversary of its signature fundraising event: Wine, Women & Shoes. The celebration will take place from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, May 15, at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire.

Now in its 10th year, Wine, Women & Shoes has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the North Shore philanthropic calendar. Guests will enjoy an evening of curated wine tastings, boutique shopping from carefully selected vendors, a live auction and a raffle. The evening’s most powerful and memorable moment, however, is the Survivor Fashion Show, in which women served by A Safe Place take the runway to celebrate their strength, resilience, and journey forward.

“Ten years ago, we launched Wine, Women & Shoes as a way to bring our community together in support of survivors,” said Kierstin Tanzer, Director of Events at A Safe Place. “A decade later, this event continues to leave a lasting impact, helping us provide critical services to those we serve.”

All proceeds from the event directly support the programs and services of A Safe Place, which has touched more than 30,000 lives through crisis intervention, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, and prevention education. A Safe Place operates a 24/7 crisis line reachable at (800) 600-7233.

“In the face of shifting federal funding, this event plays an important role in helping offset some of the gap and sustain our essential programs,” Pat Davenport, Chief Executive Officer of A Safe Place, said. “Even something as simple as purchasing a ticket has a meaningful impact, helping us continue providing critical services to those who need them most.”

This year, every guest is treated as a VIP. Tickets are $150 per person and are available now at asafeplaceforhelp.org/get-involved/special-events.

Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are still available. Businesses and individuals interested in supporting the event or increasing their visibility among a passionate community audience are encouraged to contact the Development Department at (847) 731-7165, ext. 1008, or info@asafeplaceforhelp.org.
