Saving environment needs full funding

The current administration is on a mission to set back our scientifically proven needs to clean up the environment and save our planet.

They have proposed cuts of $4.6 billion (52%) to the EPA for Fiscal year 2027 while also seeking to increase defense funding by $1.5 trillion (44%). Such a proposal should strike just about everyone as the opposite of what the world and our nation needs right now.

How our government spends our tax dollars reflects our moral commitments as a nation and I believe we can and must do better. We cannot have a government that wants to do less to stop pollution and more to make war. I applaud Senators Durbin and Duckworth in calling for more EPA funding and accountability when it comes to working for environmental justice and better public health. We need the same kind of leadership in the House.
