A lie about the pope

In his latest attack against Pope Leo, Trump claims that the pope is endangering Catholics because the pope “thinks it's fine for Iran to have a nuclear weapon.” Trump's claim is based upon a lie. The pope has never approved of Iran, or any nation for that matter, having nuclear weapons. But the truth is usually the first casualty when Trump attacks perceived opponents. Unfortunately, Trump is such a chronic liar, his lies often go unchecked. However, when it comes to attributing statements or beliefs to the pope, Catholics should not hesitate to call out Trump for his lies.
