World’s largest teddy bear to visit Waukegan Municipal Beach

Xonita, the world’s largest teddy bear, will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in a free public event at Waukegan Municipal Beach, 201 E. Sea Horse Drive.

Xonita is 63 feet long and weighs 8,000 pounds. The city of Waukegan and the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago are partnering with ARCOA Group and Waukegan Computer/OneStop IT to welcome the big bear for public display.

Xonita is described as a special cultural treasure representing the creativity, craftsmanship and heart of the people of Xonacatlan and the state of Mexico.
