Barrington woman hurt in crash between motorcycle and minivan
A motorcyclist was injured Tuesday evening after a collision with a minivan on Northwest Highway in Barrington, police said.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m.
Police said a blue 2021 Honda Odyssey, driven by a 45-year-old Palatine woman, exited a driveway in the 100 block of South Northwest Highway and attempted to turn left onto northbound Northwest Highway.
A black 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 40-year-old Barrington woman, was headed southbound on Northwest Highway and struck the driver’s side of the minivan.
The Barrington woman was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with serious injuries, police said.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) conducted an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours before reopening to traffic at about 9 p.m.
