Taking issues seriously
In the news story about repealing or amending the SAFE-T Act after the horrific shooting of Officer Bartholomew, Senate Minority Leader John Curran is quoted as saying, “Any society where killing law enforcement is not taken seriously is not a safe, functioning, democratic society.” To Sen. Curran and all political leaders, I say, any society where the killing of students in mass shootings at schools is not taken seriously is not a safe, functioning, democratic society. It signifies that our elected officials are not taking responsibility to effectively represent the people that put them in office.
