Ascension Illinois offering free medical services to the underserved May 16

Ascension Illinois will again host its flagship Medical Mission at Home event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Willow Creek Care Center at 67 Algonquin Road in South Barrington.

The event offers free medical, pharmacy, podiatry, foot-washing, specialty, dental and wellness services to residents of Illinois.

Medical Mission at Home provides compassionate care to those facing barriers to traditional healthcare access. No insurance, payment or appointment is required for most services — they will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with language interpreters available on-site.

Hundreds of healthcare professionals, volunteers and community partners are expected to participate in this year’s effort.

Started in 2007, Medical Mission at Home is a day dedicated to providing access to healthcare for those who may not otherwise receive it.
