District 62 elementary schools to host Kindergarten Information Nights

Community Consolidated School District 62 will host a series of Kindergarten Information Nights at its elementary schools in order to provide incoming families with information about its full-day program that will begin for the 2026-27 school year.

This transformative initiative will begin at Iroquois Community School in July of 2026, and at the 10-month elementary schools in August of 2026.

“This extended time in the school day will give children the space and opportunity to build stronger relationships with their teachers and peers while also developing skills to thrive in life,” said Dr. Michael Amadei, Superintendent of Schools. “Extending the school day here in District 62 is about enriching our students’ kindergarten experience and laying a powerful foundation for their future success.”

Kindergarten Information Nights will be held at each of the elementary schools. Families are encouraged to attend a session at their designated neighborhood school.

• 5 p.m. April 23: Central Elementary School, 1526 Thacker St., Des Plaines.

• 5:30 p.m. May 5: North Elementary School, 1780 Rand Road, Des Plaines.

• 5:30 p.m. May 7: Terrace Elementary School, 735 S. Westgate Road, Des Plaines.

• 5:30 p.m. May 14: South Elementary School, 1535 Everett Ave., Des Plaines.

• 6 p.m. May 14: Iroquois Community School, 1836 Touhy Ave., Des Plaines.

• 5:30 p.m. May 20: Orchard Place Elementary School, 2727 Maple St., Des Plaines.

• 5 p.m. May 20: Plainfield Elementary School, 1850 Plainfield Drive, Des Plaines.

• 6 p.m. May 26: Cumberland Elementary School, 700 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

• 6 p.m. May 27: Forest Elementary School, 1375 S. Fifth Ave., Des Plaines.

• 5:30 p.m. June 24: Orchard Place Elementary School, 2727 Maple St., Des Plaines.

• 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10: Orchard Place Elementary School. 2727 Maple St., Des Plaines.

Online registration for District 62’s 2026-27 school year is now open.

Students entering kindergarten through eighth grade will register via the district’s online registration system. Parents can register from the Campus Parent (Infinite Campus) website, d62il.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/d62.jsp, or use the Campus Parent app on their smartphone.
