Fire leaves Antioch-area home uninhabitable

An Antioch-area home was left uninhabitable after a fire Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters from the Antioch Fire Department called to home in the 41000 block of Lincoln Ave at about 2:29 p.m. arrived to find a single-family home with smoke showing from the attic area, officials said.

Due to the extent of the fire and water supply needs, a Mutual Aid Box Alarm was activated, bringing in resources from fire departments in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Crews worked for about two hours to extinguish and conduct overhaul operations to extinguish hidden fires, according to the fire department.

No civilians or firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said.
