Geneva church’s spring rummage sale features three days of bargains
United Methodist Church of Geneva is hosting its popular Spring rummage sale April 23-25. The sale begins Thursday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, at 211 Hamilton St in downtown Geneva.
It continues on Friday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and concludes Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to noon with the popular “Fill-A-Bag” option for $10.
Browse through the assortment of gently used items, including various household products, furniture, clothes, books, games, children’s items, and more. Make sure to check out the upstairs parlor where we sell jewelry and high-end fashion items.
The church has more than two floors of great bargains and the library is overflowing with homemade baked goods for sale. This entire week the church is celebrating Earth Day and our Creation Care group urges community members to come “shop” here before buying new so that we may keep less items out of the landfill. Do your bit for the environment this week!
Proceeds for last spring’s rummage sale totaled more than $26,000 and the church’s Women’s Ministry was able to distribute more than $20,000 of those funds to Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, Belong: Fox Valley, Everytown Gun Safety, Feed My Starving Children, Fox Valley Food for Health, Friends of the Fox River, Heifer International, Habitat for Humanity, Hesed House, Lazarus House, Midwest Mission, Mutual Ground, Northern Illinois Food Bank, Radical Love, ReHome Center, The Salvation Army, TriCity Family Services, TriCity Health Partnership, and Valley Shelter Workshop.
