No injuries in Des Plaines bar fire

A Des Plaines bar was forced to close Tuesday afternoon following a small kitchen fire, authorities said.

The fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. at Countryside Saloon, 2501 Ballard Road. It spread from an exhaust hood to the roof, according to a news release.

Crews got the blaze under control quickly. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
