Here’s a localized snapshot of some major road projects this spring and summer.

Cook County

• Intersection improvements at Golf and Barrington roads in Hoffman Estates.

• Resurfacing on Ela Road between Central and Dundee roads in Hoffman Estates.

• Resurfacing on Landmeier Road between Arlington Heights and Busse roads, and between Cambridge Drive and Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village.

• Bridge replacement on South Meacham Road over the west branch of Salt Creek in Elk Grove Village.

• Resurfacing on Shoe Factory Road between Bartlett and Higgins roads in Hoffman Estates.

• Replacing the Foster Avenue bridge over the Kennedy Expressway in Chicago.

• Replacing the Devon Avenue bridge over the Edens Expressway near Lincolnwood.

DuPage County

• Reconstructing York Road between Devon Avenue and Gateway Drive in Elk Grove Village and Bensenville.

• Rebuilding the Warrenville Road bridge over the East Branch of the DuPage River in Lisle.

• Intersection and roadway improvements on Naperville Road between I-88 and Ridgeland Road and Naperville.

• Intersection improvements and resurfacing on Lemont Road in Woodridge.

• Resurfacing on 75th Street in Woodridge.

• Resurfacing on County Farm Road in Wheaton and Winfield.

• Resurfacing on Geneva Road in Winfield.

Fox Valley

• Bridge construction at Bunker Road at Keslinger Road near La Fox will involve road closures and detours.

• Intersection improvements at Randall Road and Route 72 plus Randall widening near West Dundee.

• Resurfacing on Route 25 in Bartlett and Elgin.

• Widening on Randall Road in the Lake in the Hills area.

• Repairing the Route 31 bridge over Nippersink Creek near Spring Grove.

Lake County

• Continued rebuilding of Arlington Heights Road between Lake-Cook Road and Route 83 in Buffalo Grove and Long Grove. This project is about 75% complete and should finish in August with lanes expected to open earlier in the summer.

• Continued widening of the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Washington Street in the Gurnee area.

• Intersection improvements at Washington Street and Route 21 near Gurnee.

• Roundabout construction on Russell Road near Wisconsin at intersections with Kenosha and Lewis avenues.

• Roundabout construction at Deep Lake Road and Depot Street in Antioch.

• Filling gaps in bike paths and sidewalks along Washington Street from Sextant Drive to Almond Road in the Grayslake/Gurnee area.

Will County

• Reconstructing Bell Road near Homer Glen.

• Resurfacing on Renwick Road near Plainfield.
