Naperville begins repairs on downtown parking garages

Maintenance work on downtown Naperville parking garages is slated to begin Monday at the Central Parking Facility on Chicago Avenue.

Crews will be patching and repairing concrete. About 10 parking spaces will be closed where work is being done, according to the city.

Crews generally will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Occasionally, they may work on Saturday, though only as needed. The work is expected to take roughly one week to complete, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.

Then beginning the week of April 27, contractors will be caulking or sealing areas of the Water Street parking garage, which opened almost a decade ago. The work will address the first two levels. Crews will work on one half of a level at a time to keep open as much parking as possible.

Crews generally work from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, though they may need to work on Saturday. Work is expected to last through mid-May, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.

The city hired Walker Consultants and JLJ Contracting for the project.
