Beer, a Bazaar and Pizza: Mundelein’s Spring Market returns this Sunday
The Streetz Artz Alliance is bringing its Spring Bazaar back to Tighthead Brewing Company, 161 N. Archer Ave. in Mundelein, on Sunday, April 12, from noon to 5 p.m.
Free to attend and open to all ages, the indoor market draws more than two dozen local artists, makers, and vendors into the brewery’s roomy event space — and for many in the north suburbs, it’s already a date they pencil in each season.
Admission is free, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Tighthead will be pouring its signature craft beers alongside non-alcoholic options, and Pizzeria Deville will be on-site serving fresh pizza from the moment the doors open. With temperatures forecast in the low 70s, the brewery’s patio will also be available for those who want to step outside.
What sets this market apart from a typical pop-up bazaar is the deliberate care that goes into selecting who participates. John Streetz, organizer and founder of the Streetz Artz Alliance, describes it as a curation process — not just filling tables, but building an experience where each vendor adds something distinct.
“With nearly half of our vendors being new to this event, I’m excited for guests to discover a whole new mix of talent,” Streetz said. “We take pride in curating events that feel fresh, engaging, and worth coming out for, and Tighthead has been an incredible partner in making that happen.”
That mix spans a genuinely impressive range. Spotted Elephant Ink offers intricate henna tattoos alongside tarot readings — a pairing of visual artistry and personal reflection that tends to draw a crowd. The Leaf Lady creates cement leaf castings from real foliage, turning nature into functional garden art like bird baths and decorative pieces. Sweet U Candles brings handcrafted soy candles, wax melts, and room sprays, while Sew-Kerry Embroidered Creations offers tote bags, zipper pouches, and textile goods stitched with care and personality. The Record Den rounds out the experience with a selection of unique and rare vinyl records.
This year’s lineup also includes several vendors whose participation carries meaning beyond the transaction. Cubed Dimensions Printing donates a portion of proceeds to the American Cancer Society and the American Liver Foundation.
DK Custom Woodwork donates to Fire Buddies, an organization that supports firefighters in need. And Memento Moira gives back to Hello Happiness Creativity Center, a nonprofit focused on creativity as a path to well-being (hellohappinesscreativitycenter.com). Shopping at this event isn’t just a way to find something beautiful or unique — for several of these vendors, it’s also a way to contribute to causes that matter.
Making their Spring Bazaar debut this year are: A Smalltown Baroness, a Mundelein-based fabric artist whose work carries a distinctive small-town warmth; Angelic Celestial Whispers; Avijo Design; Blacky Cat Creations; Ghost Owl Studio; Kings Woods; KS 3D Prints; Libra Rising By Yoali; Mamo and Jo; Melanie Klegerman Fersko, author and artist; Memento Moira; Pigeon Brain Studios; Robin Monique Rios Art; The Record Den; and Ursula Naturals. Returning favorites include MasterLink Chainmaille, Unique Creations by Rachel — a consistent presence at Streetz Artz Alliance events for two years running — and many others rounding out a full and varied lineup.
The full roster also includes Cubed Dimensions Printing, D’Mood Kreationz, DK Custom Woodwork Co., Gigawatt Coffee Roasters, Grandma Dan’s Bakery, Kulay Illustrations, Sew-Kerry Embroidered Creations, Snowingstars, Spotted Elephant Ink, Sweet U Candles, The Leaf Lady, and Wanna Pickle Gourmet Foods, among others.
At its core, the Streetz Artz Alliance exists to support independent creators and build community through accessible, well-organized events. Every purchase made Sunday goes directly to the artists, food vendors, and the brewery itself — no middlemen, no entry fee, no barrier between the community and the people making things worth buying.
