Elk Grove Village 1956 Food Drive Challenge

In honor of the 70th Anniversary of Elk Grove Village, the village is partnering with Elk Grove Township on a community food drive to support community members in need. The drive will run through April 20, and is aiming to collect 19,560 items, in commemoration of the year of Elk Grove Village’s incorporation in 1956.

Donations can be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Village Hall. The Elk Grove Township food pantry is especially in need of the following items:

• jams and spreads

• cooking oil

• rice and pasta

• condiments

• soap and toothpaste

• diapers and toilet paper

While these items are most needed, any nonperishable food donations are welcome and appreciated.
